Categorization of Transfer Tools by Dave Campbell

InfoPump
Interacts with Notes server as a client. Good for keeing Notes servers clean.
Has interfaces to many databases.
Requires separate database engine, such as SQLSERVER, and separate InfoPump management station.

Notrix
Server add-in, uses REXX (generic servers not generic anymore).
Notes-centric, not for general database-sync work. (Pro and Con)

ZMerge
Raw export / import. No cataloging or management functions.

Each one serves a different role, but perform similar functionality, at a basic level. You must evaluate the use of the tool against your requirements and your environment. Instead of trying to understand each of these tools in their entirety at a detailed level, engage knowledgeable people with more details about your requirements and
environment.
